Place t-shirt board inside of t-shirt. Use foam brush to place paint colors on child’s hand and fingers. Place child’s hand on shirt to print turkey, pressing gently on each finger to make sure paint prints. Carefully lift hand straight up off shirt to avoid smudging. Immediately wash child’s hands with soap and water.
Brush red paint on foam alphabet letters and press on shirt. Let dry.
Use fabric paint to add detail to turkey, such as legs, beak and eye. Let dry.
Craft Notes
Adult supervision is required at all times.
Tip
Be sure to place a t-shirt board inside the shirt before printing. If you don’t have a t-shirt board, you can use wax paper. Fabric paint is nontoxic and will wash off child’s hand with soap and water. Practice on a scrap of paper to prevent mistakes.
To protect clothing, have children wear an old t-shirt when painting. To protect the work surface, cover with recycled newspaper.
Use this same technique to create festive shirts for every holiday.
